Kadarlusman, S.E., the Chairman of the Semarang City Legislative Council, spoke at a seminar before 50 activists at Universitas Dian Nuswantoro (Udinus) on Monday, July 18th, 2022. The seminar taught the activists the basics of leadership within an organization, as well as how to spare time properly for both organizational activities and campus ones.
The seminar, initiated by the Student Council Representatives of Udinus, was held in the conference room on the first floor of the H building at Udinus. By employing the theme of ‘Young Legislatures of SCAR (Superior, Creative, Aspirated, and Responsive) to Form Systematic Campus Parlements,’ the seminar was attended by all members of the student council representative members, as well as representatives from its faculty divisions.
In addition to activists, several prominent figures also made an appearance, including Prof. Dr. Ir. Edi Noersasongko, M.Kom., (the Chancellor of Udinus), Dr. Kusni Ingsih, M.M., (the Vice Chancellor III of Student Affairs), and other staff members. Similar to the activists, they were also seen sitting and listening to the seminar delivered by the chairman.
During the discussion, Kadarlusman, S.E., advised students to be the gateway of every problem faced by their fellow students. Furthermore, he also added that the activists must be able to be active within their respective organizations without having to abandon their duties as students.
“This is because students’ main duties are to learn and study, both in classrooms and organizations. Thus, you can gather both soft skills and hard ones,” he said.
On that occasion, the chancellor also stood on stage to advise the activists to focus on positive activities, such as learning for their futures instead of inflicting chaotic activities like protesting for insignificant things. It is only natural for students to aim for higher purpose by studying, honing their knowledge, and graduating on time.
“As our students graduate, they will get jobs or open the opportunity for others to get one. We hereby ask our activists to create a good atmosphere on campus by organizing positive activities,” the chancellor emphasized.
Meanwhile, Decky Adriandy, the Head of the Student Council Representatives at Udinus, hoped for the seminar to give maximum contributions so that the activists could do their tasks more properly. By doing their jobs more properly, the activists will be able to understand their roles and functions, allowing a harmonious campus atmosphere to eventually form at Udinus.
“We featured two speakers who understood full well about legislation, both internal and external legislative matters. By doing so, our activists from the Student Council Representatives will not only learn for themselves but also spread the knowledge to others,” he hoped. (Humas Udinus/Haris. Foto: Humas Udinus)
