The Alumni Association (IKA) at Universitas Dian Nuswantoro (Udinus) gave a training program on making animation-based learning media to teachers who were members of the Nahdlatul Ulama Teacher Association (Pergunu). The program served as a contribution from IKA at Udinus to empower Indonesian teachers.
The program was opened symbolically by a speech delivered by Prof. Dr. Supriadi Rustab, M.Si—Vice Chancellor I of Academic Affairs at Udinus. On that occasion, Hery Pamungkas, SS. M.I.Kom.,—the Chief of IKA—, and Dr. H. Nur Cholid., M.Ag., M.Pd.,—the Head of the Pergunu of Central Java—were also present. Both of them also presented a speech to motivate participants in this training program focusing on how to make an animation-based learning video.
The program was held online using Zoom. The materials were provided by Nur Rokhman, S.Sn., M.Kom., a faculty from the Animation Department at Udinus. Roughly 250 participants were present in that three-hour training program held on Saturday, August 20th, 2022.
Hery Pamungkas, SS. M.I.Kom.,—the Chief of IKA—explained that this event was particularly aimed at Pengunu as a contribution from IKA to contribute to the nation, particularly in the education sector. Furthermore, he also expected participants to transform, adapt, and innovate.
“This collaboration between IKA Udinus and Pengunu is a token of our honor to teachers who have tirelessly been shaping the young generation to be what they are today. Hopefully, this program can bring positive impacts to these teachers,” Hery Pamungkas stated during the opening speech.
Meanwhile, Dr. H. Nur Cholid, M.Ag., M.Pd., expressed his gratitude to IKA for this collaboration and for providing a training program to teachers from the Pengunu of Central Java. This training on how to make an animation-based learning media will eventually serve as an innovative teaching method for teachers to teach their students.
“This training program is very beneficial for us. Hopefully, this synergy can see a continuation, allowing the bonds between Udinus and Pengunu to be closer,” he uttered.
At the program, Nur Rokhman, S.Sn., M.Kom., taught the participants several steps of producing an animated medium, including character creation, lip sync, and adding educational content to the media. (Humas Udinus/Alex. Foto: Humas Udinus)
