Committed to providing knowledge concerning Artificial Intelligence AI) and Machine Learning, the Center of Excellence (CoE) at Universitas Dian Nuswantoro (Udinus) held a program entitled ‘Training of Trainer (ToT) AI Robotic Trainer Set (ARTS).’ The event also implemented the utilization of DGX A100 owned by Udinus.
During the ToT, CoE partnered with NVIDIA and PT. Epsindo Prima Solusi. Furthermore, PT. Sari Technology was also present and became a mentor at the event. There were also five mentors led by Muhammad Ridzky Akbar. Lasting from October 25th to 26th, 2022, the event was opened by the committee head, Dr. Eng. Farrikh Alzami, M.Kom.
During his interview, Dr. Eng, Farrikh Alzami, M.Kom., explained that the Training of Trainer (ToT) aimed to introduce the concept of a combination of AI and robotics. At this event, the participant will be trained in how to operate ARTS, basic electronic projects, Python, and OpenCV, as well as AI projects.
Farrikh also revealed that the training program served as a continuation of the funding received by the Center of Excellence (CoE) in the form of a robotic training known as ARTS. ARTS has several sensors to control several aspects, including a gas sensor, touch sensor, magnetic sensor, and elevation sensor.
“ARTS is a product created by PT Sari Teknologi. It serves as a module to learn how to put AI or Machine Learning inside a robot, which will later be automatically combined,” he explained.
The training program was primarily attended by ten faculty members from the Computer Science Faculty and the Engineering Faculty. On that occasion, all participants conducted practice and gave outputs in the form of feedback on the device that would be used. From the number of questions asked by the participants, the event ran with a fair amount of enthusiasm.
As one of the participants and the Dean of the Engineering Faculty, Heru Agus Santoso, Ph.D., also delivered an opening speech at the event, which would later develop the Semester Learning Plan. The Training of Trainer (ToT), focusing on combining AI with Robotics, is expected to give synergies between both departments.
“Hopefully, both departments can be synergized to create a robotic concept fully equipped with AI. Through this training, the faculty members will later teach their students a similar concept,” the dean concluded. (Humas Udinus/Haris. Foto: Humas Udinus)
