One by one, the E-Sports team at Universitas Dian Nuswantoro (Udinus) garners countless accomplishments. Recently, the Udinus Maeda team managed to secure the third place at a national event for Valorant. Udinus Maeda earned this achievement upon claiming victories over dozens of teams at the 2022 Valorant Techno Fest 4.0 Sanata Dharma.

The 2022 Valorant Techno Fest 4.0 was hosted by a public university in Yogyakarta, with dozens of teams participating in it.

Udinus Maeda consisted of seven students of various departments, with Haliza Permata (a Visual Communication Design student) being the leader and manager of it. The other six students were mainly Informatics students, including Junianto Endra, Mohammad Ridwan, William Trijanto, Ricky Dirgantara, Hanifan Fadhilah dan Nicholaus Verdhy. Every player plays a different role in Valorant, including Initiator, Sentinel, Duelist, and Controller.

During his interview, Haliza Permata uttered that by the time they participated at the Valorant Techno Fest, he and his team had already prepared themselves. This was evident in how they performed and planned their strategies. Haliza did not expect for the team to win third place at the event. Furthermore, he revealed that the chemistry between teammates was among the most important aspects of E-Sports.

“At the event, there were 16 teams participating, and all of them consisted of great and talented players. However, we managed to better 13 of them, and our dedication finally came to fruition,” Haliza explained.

In addition to the 2022 Valorant Techno Fest, Udinus Maeda also earned second place at the Unipin Valorant Fun Match. For additional information, there are various games offered within the E-Sports Community at Udinus, including Mobile Legends and Valorant.

Dr. Rindra Yusianto, S.Kom., MT., the Head of the Student Affairs Bureau at Udinus, expressed his pride in this excellent national accomplishment. He further hoped for this accomplishment to further motivate them to keep earning achievements.

“I hereby congratulate these talented E-Sports players for making a name for our campus. It shows that the E-Sports Community from Udinus is currently on the national level,” he concluded. (Humas Udinus/Alex. Foto: Humas Udinus)
