Universitas Dian Nuswantoro (Udinus) held the 2023 Dinus Festival (Dinusfest), and all student activity units within Udinus also hosted various contests and competitions to enliven the atmosphere of this festival. In an attempt to enliven the 2023 Dinusfest, the Flag Raiser Unit at Udinus hosted the Loptasiku 7 with the theme ‘Strong Like Gatot Kaca, Tough Like the Garuda in the Unity in Bhineka Tunggal Ika.’

This competition was participated by 20 teams consisting of students from many different high schools scattered around the country. The competition pushed students to march with various formation movements. At the Loptasiku 7, there were several assessment aspects, including marching position and Best Costume. This marching competition took place on January 22nd, 2023.

During her interview, Anissa Dewi Safitri, the Head of the Committee, explained that this event aimed to push the young generation to be creative and expressive in marching. Additionally, the Loptasiku 7 could also act as a means for students to convey their aspirations and development in marching.

“This competition seeks to help high school students to develop their creativity as flag raisers, as well as luring their latent potential to be unleashed, allowing it to be honed even further,” Anissa explained.

Meanwhile, Dr. Kusni Ingsih, M.M., the Vice Chancellor III of Student Affairs, stated that the Dinus Festival (Dinusfest) served as a platform for high school students to showcase their talents competitively. In addition to high school students, there were also several college students participating in the festival. She further revealed that there were more than 63 contest categories to choose from, and in this year alone, the festival was competed by 5124 participants.

“Every participant will indeed do their best to be the winner. Through this event, they will eventually understand the concept of winning and losing in a competition. From there, they will develop their competitive mindset. As for the winner, we would also like to reward them with scholarships and other interesting prizes,” she concluded.

In addition to sports, the 2023 Dinusfest also featured other kinds of competitions, including arts and scientific papers. The participants will later be entertained by a singer from Jakarta at the closing ceremony on January 29th, 2023. (Humas Udinus/Alex. Foto: Humas Udinus)
