Through the 2022 Kedaireka Matching Fund Program, the Humanities Faculty at Universitas Dian Nuswantoro (Udinus) launched an app named Information System of Borobudur Homestay Udinus Creative Campus (Simbok-Ku). This app was made in response to the problems surrounding a work partner in managing their homestay in Candirejo, Magelang Regency.
The launching took place on Monday, November 21st, 2022 at Balai Mijin in Candirejo Village, Magelang Regency. The launching was attended by the proposing team led by Dra. Emik Rahayu, M.Par accompanied by three other team members, namely, Izza Ulumuddin Ahmad Asshofi, S.E., Karis Widyatmoko, M.Kom., and Dr. Imang Dapit Pamungkas, S.E., M.Si., Ak., CA., CIBA., as well as several students of the Humanities Faculty. Furthermore, the event was also directly witnessed by the Tourism Service of Magelang, the Head of the Borobudur Sub-district, and the locals of Candirejo, Borobudur Sub-district, Magelang Regency.
Dra. Emik Rahayi, M.Par., the Team Leader, explained that the app was equipped with several marketing features, including homestay payment, which could be accessed online. The android app also offers a reporting feature for the homestay owner to use. For additional information, Simbok-KU is a product of collaboration between the Humanities Faculty with a partner, Wimbot Ltd.
“Our app is designed to resolve problems surrounding homestay management in the current digital era. Through the features equipped in this app, they can participate in the era of digitalization, particularly in the field of tourism,” she explained.
The launching was officially opened by the Vice Dean of the Humanities Faculty, Dr. Dra. Sri Mulatsih, M.Pd., with a gong sound marking the beginning of it. During his greetings, Dr. Sri hoped for the app to be utilized properly by the homestay management in Candirejo, Magelang.
“The Kedaireka research does not only end at the launching stage, as it will continue with a training program conducted by the same team.
