Committed to giving talented athletes scholarships for higher education, Universitas Dian Nuswantoro (Udinus) tied a partnership with the Sukun Badak Sports Association. The partnership was embodied in the form of scholarships for undergraduate studies at Udinus.

The beginning of this partnership was marked with the Memorandum of Understanding signed by Udinus and the Sukun Badak Sports Association. This procession took place on the first place of the H building at Udinus, on Tuesday, November 29th, 2022, with representatives from both parties being present.

The agreement of collaboration between Udinus and the Sukun Badak Volleyball Association was signed by Prof. Dr. Ir. Edi Noersasongko, M.Kom (the Chancellor of Udinus). The procession was witnessed by several prominent figures, namely, Dr. Guruh Fajar Shidik, S.Kom., M.Cs., (the Vice Chancellor II of General and Financial Affairs and the Instructor of the Volleyball Unit at Udinus), Dr. Kusni Ingsih, M.M., (the Vice Chancellor III of Student Affairs, and Dr. Pulung Nurtantio Andono, S.T., M.Kom., (the Vice Chancellor IV of Research and Partnership Affairs).

On that occasion, Prof. Edi also gave an alma mater jacket to one of the athletes receiving scholarships. Through this partnership, the chancellor hoped for both parties to take advantage of this opportunity. Additionally, this partnership allowed Udinus to have more promising athletes, and it also gave an opportunity for these athletes from the Sukun Badak Sports Association to garner prospective academic competence for their future.

“We have seen that the Sukun Badak volleyball team has owned countless achievements over the years. For that reason, we are committed to giving these athletes a prospective academic future to balance both their academic and non-academic achievements,” he revealed.

Meanwhile, the Sukun Badak Sports Association sent Sugiono (the Manager of Sukun Badak) to represent their cause at this agreement. Sugiono was accompanied by Ir. Iswar Aminuddin, M.T., (the Head of the Indonesian Volleyball Association Board of Semarang) and Tri Widayat (the Daily Chairman of the Indonesian Volleyball Association of Semarang).

The manager also showed his appreciation toward this partnership, as according to him, this partnership could sustain both academic and non-academic aspects of both parties.

“Hopefully, this partnership can run nicely according to the plan. As a prestigious university, we are sure that Udinus is the correct choice for this collaboration,” Sugiono uttered.

The agreement was concluded with a friendly match between the Suku Badak Volleyball Team and the Volleyball Team from Udinus. The match was held at the Udinus Sports Center with immense enthusiasm from the audience. (Humas Udinus/Haris. Foto: Humas Udinus)
