Through the Faculty of Engineering, Udinus had successfully gotten funds through a competition program of Kampus Merdeka (PKKM) which was an extension program of the year 2022. Through that program, Udinus had been funded 629 million rupiahs.

The fund was being used to enhance the quality of graduation as well as international competitiveness. Universitas Dian Nuswantoro successfully met the qualification criteria to improve the quality of its study program, making it one of the selected private colleges (PTS) in this regard. Specifically, the Bachelor of Electrical Engineering major at Udinus had fulfilled the requirements and received funding of IDR 628,488,000 from the PKKM 2023.

The program was achieved by the Bachelor of Electrical Engineering Udinus, which carried two different activities. The first one was the development of a learning process through start-up businesses, and the second activity was the improvement toward competitiveness in graduation by improving the competence of international competition.

The Head of the Electrical Engineering Study Program Udinus, Dr. M Ary Heryanto S.T., M.Eng., explained that the program would be held in the upcoming odd semester in the academic year of 2023/2024. He highlighted that this funding from PKKM marked the second time the Bachelor of Electrical Engineering program at Udinus had received such support. In the previous year, the program successfully met its Key Performance (IKU) target.

“This year, we are planning two activities which focused on the development of start-up businesses for the students and the international certifications for the lecturers. The purpose of this act is to encourage the Bachelor of Electrical Engineering Udinus to compete at the international level,” said Dr. Ary.

In detail, two activities had been prepared in the representatives’ proposals. Which were programs like making start-up businesses in the industry of robotic automation. To improve the quality of alumni, students would have the opportunity to participate in an apprenticeship program of industry and credit transfer.

“For the lecturers, we have also prepared them to participate in international certification of Asean Engineer and K3 BNSP. Developing both students' and lecturers’ soft skills has also been done to support our programs.” Explained Ary.

The grant from Kampus Merdeka Programs (PKKM) was a form of help from the Directorate General of Higher Education (Ditjen Dikti) to both public schools and private schools across Indonesia. The program was planned to support, facilitate, as well as hasten colleges in Kampus Merdeka (MBKM) and to reach the Key Performances (IKU),

Regarding the achievements, The Dean Faculty of Engineering Udinus, Agus Santoso, S.Kom., M.Kom., Ph.D., said that students' responses were very positive and many of them were looking forward for PKKM 2023. As a result of that program, they were getting a lot of advantages from the internship theme which can be used for their thesis.

Agus Santoso expressed his opinions “With the help of this program, we are hoping that students can hit two birds with one stone. From this achievement, I am expecting other program studies to be motivated and keep improving the potential from the side of curriculum to compete at the international level.” (Udinus Public Relations/Haris.
