The world, at the moment, is significantly developing and has reached the 5.0 era, allowing mankind to use technology-based knowledge. Management Student Association (HMM) of Universitas Dian Nuswantoro (Udinus) encouraged the young generation to be the agents of change in our rapidly developing world.
The event was organized in a form of an online webinar. Two speakers from the academic sector at Udinus and a foreign practitioner with expertise in the development of the 5.0 era.
There were three speakers at that event including, Mahmoud Mohsen Mohamed, an Egyptian entrepreneur, English lecturer, and global education expert. Additionally, a director of General Maldives Media Council and HR Director of Vashi Company Put Ltd Maldivian known as Dr. Fathmath Luna also spoke at that event. Lastly, Imam Nuryanto, S.E., M.M., an entrepreneur and a lecturer from the Faculty of Economics Business at Udinus, was a speaker at this event as well.
Ardhilla Rossynta Panca, the head organizer of the webinar, shared that the event was an effort to provide knowledge regarding the 5.0 era for the participants. She explained that such knowledge must be distributed to the current and next generation as a preparation to face the present era.
“Our webinar could also give the young generation knowledge and preparation to navigate the ongoing 5.0 era. Hopefully, the participants, which mainly consist of students, are able to comprehend and apply the knowledge shared by the speakers,” she explained.
One of the speakers at the event, Imam Nuryanto, S.E., M.M., defined the Society 5.0 era as a progression from the previous eras. Society 1.0 era was the era when mankind first hunted and was introduced to the concept of writing. Society 2.0 was when mankind first noticed agriculture and Society 3.0 was the beginning of the industrial era. Moreover, Society 4.0 was the era when mankind was first introduced to computers and the internet.
“Society 5.0 era is the era when technology has become an integral part of mankind itself. Essentially, The Internet supports our daily lives, beyond information sharing. Ultimately, mankind has already been able to create new value through technological development,” he explained.
Furthermore, Mahmoud Mohsen Mohamed revealed several impacts that emerged from the 5.0 era for the world’s education system., including, long-reaching education, being able to exchange information with each other, and multimedia integration. Mahmoud also added that collaboration, rather than competition, was the priority in the 5.0 era.
