Many people find that films are an intriguing field of study, and Muhammad Mika Elindra was one of those many people who wanted to learn more deeply about films. Mika, a student from Film and Television major at Universitas Dian Nuswantoro, had been involved in many film production processes. 
 
One of Mika’s films was ‘The Revenge’, which was nominated in the Monthly Film Festival of 2023 and was funded by OTT FlipFlop.
 
Mika’s interest in films emerged when he was still in elementary school when he saw a group of people doing a movie shooting process. Later, when he was in high school, he created and directed his first movie entitled ‘Nabung Cerdas’. 
 
“Coincidentally, the movie won the most favorable short movie in the 2020 Tribun Jateng. Since then, I committed to pursuing a film career,” revealed the man who was born in Rembang.
 
Since he started his life during his university years, Mika became more productive in filmmaking. The man who was born on January 7th, 2003, revealed that he had undergone several developments ever since he enrolled in Udinus. 
 
“During my study at Udinus, I could gather many acquittances to produce films. In my opinion, Udinus has many good connections which support me to become better,” he shared.
 
The thriller film ‘The Revenge’ produced by Mika tells a story about an assassin who keeps getting terrors during his missions. Then when he decided to quit being an assassin, the protagonist faces a circumstance that compels him to be an assassin once again.
 
“I have rarely seen movies like this in Semarang. That is why I want to experiment with such a newly unearthed thing like this. Moreover, thriller films in general have an expansive market appeal and are of many people’s interests,” Mika explained.
 
Other than being the producer of ‘The Revenge’. Mika also took part in the production of a movie entitled ‘The Last Sunset’. This film achieved the 2023 Student World Impact Festival (SWIFF) and The Last Sunset would also be played at the festival. In producing The Last Sunset, Mika took the part of a soundman.
 
“I hope I will be able to produce many films and support the film ecosystem in Semarang. Hopefully, the film ecosystem will get better in Semarang, and I sincerely expect lots of Indonesian films to receive many awards,” said Mika. (Humas Udinus/Ika. Foto: Humas Udinus)
