Universitas Dian Nuswantoro (Udinus) held a flag ceremony to commemorate the 78th anniversary of Indonesia. Several lecturers and student organizations were seen present at the ceremony. Additionally, a tug of war between activists and the student affairs team was also taken place to celebrate the Indonesian Independence Day.
The flag ceremony took place on Thursday, August, 17th, 2023 at the G building parking lot at Udinus. Semarang. At the ceremony, the inspector was represented by Dr. Kusni Ingsih, M.M., Vice Chancellor III of the Student Affairs Sector alongside various student organizations at Udinus. Moreover, the Student Affairs Bureau at Udinus was also present.
The representatives from the Student Regimen Battalion 948 Macan Kumbang served as the commander and the group leader of the flag ceremony. Furthermore, representatives from many different student activity units were also involved to be ceremonial officers. The Indonesian flag was raised by the Flag Raiser Community at Udinus.
During her speech, Dr. Kusni shouted ‘Merdeka’ (independent in English) followed by others in such loud and full of energy voices. She emphasized that the whole academic community at Udinus should do their jobs properly in accordance with the 78th Indonesia Anniversaries theme of ‘Let us advance for the Indonesian Advancement.’ Especially for the Activists as they will be given burdens on their shoulders in the near future.
“The Indonesian ambition to achieve the Indonesian Golden Year by 2045 is within the grasp of your hands. Activists must possess character and dedication. Therefore, let us commemorate Indonesian Independence Day by being helpful toward the general public, campus, family, and the nation,” she concluded.
Following the flag ceremony, a ‘tumpeng’ cutting activity and a few competitions participated by students were also taken place. In addition to a tug of war, a water volley competition was also hosted to strengthen the bonds between students and to celebrate Indonesia Independence Day.
