The Indonesian Medical Council conducted a visit to celebrate the opening of the Faculty of Medicine at Universitas Dian Nuswantoro (Udinus). The visitation served as the first step to coordinate the medical study standardization which would later be implemented at Udinus.
The arrival of the representatives from The Indonesian Medical Council was welcomed by the Chief of Dian Nuswantoro Foundation, Tri Rustanti, SE., MM., and The Chancellor, Prof. Dr. Ir. Edi Noersasongko, M.Kom. Additionally, all the vice-chancellors at Udinus were also present.
Dr. dr. Hendriani Selina, SpA(K), the Dean of the Medicine Faculty, also attended the visit alongside all lecturers in the faculty. The visitation was hosted on the first floor of the H building and it ran formally with a discussion session between lecturers in the Medicine Faculty and the Council Representatives.
The Chief of the Educational Division in the Indonesian Medical Council, dr. Mariatul Fadilah, MARS, Ph.D. Sp. KKLP said that every Medicine Faculty in Indonesia had the same standard, namely the Indonesian Doctor Competency Standard (SKDI) 2012. The standard was issued so that every medical graduate in Indonesia possessed the same quality. She emphasized that every institute, educational hospital, and educational platform must be prepared to fulfill the standardized quality.
“With the proper input and processes, the Medicine Faculty at Udinus could produce many competent medical doctors who could pursue their careers abroad. This is because the current standard is regarded as excellent,” she emphasized.
Currently, Udinus has officially established the Faculty of Medicine upon receiving a decree issued by the Ministry of Education, Culture, Research, and Technology no. 690/E/O/2023. The decree was bestowed by the Head of the Higher Education Service Institute Region VI Central Java, Bhimo Widyo Andoko., S.H., M.H., during the 78th graduation at Udinus, several days prior.
Prof. Dr. Ir. Edi Noersasongko, M.Kom, The Chancellor of Udinus, expressed his gratitude for the instruction and guidance provided by the Indonesian Medical Council during their visit the day before. Feedback given by the Council could induce passion in the whole academic community at Udinus. The chancellor revealed that it took 8 months to prepare the Medicine Faculty.
“The given feedback may improve our passion to give our best to the students in the Faculty of Medicine at Udinus,” The Chancellor revealed.
