On Wednesday, September 6th, 2023, the Dinus Night Festival Expo featured a variety of food stands. The event took place in the parking lot of the G building at Udinus Semarang and served as a platform for small and medium enterprises (UMKM) in Central Java to enhance their businesses.

Ivan Abednego Lesnussa, a representative of student affairs and the event's committee organizer, explained that in addition to providing space for enterprises, the event also encourages student participation. Those booths were intended to inspire Udinus students to cultivate their entrepreneurial mindset. Ivan also revealed that there were 19 food and beverage stands that came from sponsorship, students, and UMKM.

“Several students are also taking the opportunity to open food stands at the Dinus Night Festival," stated Ivan.
He also emphasized that those 19 stands consisted of 4 sponsor stands, 4 students’ stands, and 11 small and medium enterprises stands.

Wanti, one of the food merchants, admitted that she saw a huge opportunity to increase her sales turnover through the Dinus Night Festival. She prepared up to 300 portions and was highly optimistic about reaching her sales target.

“This is the first time I’m participating in a booth at Udinus after the Covid-19 pandemic. It is a pleasure to be back at Udinus because every customer is a blessing to us. As sellers, we are hoping that the current Dinus Night Festival will support all culinary vendors,” said Wanti.

Dinus Night Festival became the closure of the main event ‘Dinus Inside 2023’. Several student units commenced the event by showcasing their activities and talents. The peak of the festival was energized by the performance of a famous group band named ‘Kotak’ which stunned all of the audiences with their remarkable songs. (WTDN/Yasinta. Photo: Doc. Kurniawan)
