In response to the problems surrounding the community in the batik village of Rejomulyo, the Student Organization Coaching Program team (PPKO) of the Informatics Student Association (HMTI) at Universitas Dian Nuswantoro (Udinus) hosted a seminar ‘Pushing the Batik Village to The Sustainable Global Market’ on September 12, 2023, at the auditorium in Rejomulyo.
The seminar featured a partner from the Directorate General of Customs and Excise in Central Java and the Special Region of Yogyakarta as a speaker. The speaker mainly discussed the systematics of export transactions.
Cahya Nugraha, S.E., M.M., the Chief of Counselling and Public Relations at the Directorate General of Customs and Excise, gave tips and tricks for establishing an international market. On that occasion, he instructed the business owners to make digital catalogs better known as ‘e-catalog’. “Through this e-catalog, everyone could access the international market more easily,” he explained.
Furthermore, Cahya also informed that the Directorate General of Customs and Excise could provide both fiscal and non-fiscal incentives, as well as, assistance to small businesses. “We also provide support to small businesses in the form of export clinics, KITE supply potential, and more,” he added.
The topic material aligned with various training activities given by the Student Coaching team of the Informatics Student Association (HMTI). One of which was product photography training published in the catalog feature on jarictku.com, which was also developed by the team. Gustina Alfa Trisnapradika, M.Kom, the supervisor of the team, mentioned that the catalog feature on the website could be tested virtually.
“This website is equipped with Augmented Reality technology allowing everyone to try batik clothes virtually. Thus, it could enhance our shopping experience to be easier and more practical,” Gustina uttered.
The Head of Rejomulyo, Dwi Sulistiono, S.E., M.M., hoped this event may expand the scope of the local community’s markets. “Hopefully, the discussed insight could be implemented and increase the income of our entrepreneurs,” he added.
Several prominent figures were also present in the seminar including, Gustina Alfa T, M.Kom, (the supervisor of the Student Organization Coaching Program of the Informatics Student Association) accompanied by Firmada Ocky Saputra, M.Eng., (the Student Affairs Coordinator in the Computer Science Faculty), and lecturers in the Department of Informatics at Udinus.
