On Saturday, November 25th, 2023, 207 graduates of Universitas Dian Nuswantoro (Udinus) initiated a professional oath, symbolizing their commitment to professionalism in the corporate world. This oath holds particular significance for the graduates of the Diploma in Medical Record and Health Information (MRHI) and was conducted at a hotel in Semarang.
The sacred ceremony is the absolute requirement to obtain a Registration Certificate or STR. The inauguration as well as the initiation of the professional oath was supervised directly by Roni Rohman, A.Md.Pk., the Head of the Professional Association of Medical Record Technicians and Health Information in Indonesia, which is commonly known as PORMIKI.
On that occasion, Roni Rohman gave all participants a ton of motivation. He also extended his appreciation toward the third-best graduates, by giving them the opportunity to work at a regional hospital in their respective hometown area. Moreover, he expected all graduates to maintain their high professionalism as well as provide the best service in the sector of medical records and health information to the public.
In addition, Roni also emphasized that hospitals should utilize electronic medical record devices aligning with the Ministry of Health Regulation No. 24 of 2022. He explained that this regulation is set to be implemented widely in the upcoming year of 2024. Not only that, but Roni also advised all graduates to update their regular STR into an electronic Registration Certificate called e-STR.
“The making process of e-STR only takes about 14 workdays, so you all need to process it so that you can work in the professional corporate field as soon as possible. We are sure enough that all graduating candidates of the MRHI program possess base skills in the sector of IT, which can be a huge advantage,” said Roni.
Syaifudin, A.Md.PK., SKM., the head of DPC Pormiki Semarang, delivered a session about further coaching for Udinus graduating candidates. The focus was on the management of e-STR for medical record technicians and professionalism. The event was also attended by the presence of Dr. Nurjanah, the Dean Secretary of the Health Faculty at Udinus, and Dr. dr. Zaenal Sugiyanto, M.Kes., the head of the Diploma in Medical Record Program, along with all the lecturers of the MRHI study program.
Meanwhile, Dr. Enny Rachmani SKM., M.Kom., Ph.D., the Dean of Udinus Health Faculty, explained that a professional oath is essential in order to get STR. Additionally, she expressed her hope that all graduates would continue developing themselves to enhance their marketability since the knowledge that they have learned at college can be honed in the desired direction. She also reminded all graduates must be able to adjust in the professional realm.
“Professional oath is sacred and has to be accountable in the future. We hope everything that has been explained today can be a fundamental matter to develop knowledge in the field of medical record and health information,” she concluded. (Udinus Public Relation/Haris. Photo: Udinus PR)
