Several athletes from Universitas Dian Nuswantoro (Udinus) triumphantly claimed medals at the 2023 National Student Sports Week XVIII. There was a total of six medals clinched by these talented athletes.

To be more specific, they garnered a gold medal, a silver medal, and four bronze medals. With those medals, the Central Java contingent was able to win second place. 

Evi Yuliana, an English student, successfully earned a gold and bronze medal in the Women’s Single Speed Chess category. As for the silver medal, it was garnered by a Management student by the name of Surya Wahyu Putra in the Men’s Board Table I category. 

Moreover, a Diploma of Informatics student, Muslimah Nurul Aisah, triumphantly grasped her hands on a bronze medal in the Women’s Board Table II category, and the bronze medal in the Men’s Board Table II category was earned by Ephesians Prismaranatha, an Informatics student. In addition, Ephesians also reinforced his team in the Men’s Standard Group Category with Surya Wahyu Putra, alongside two other Management students, namely Mustofa Iqbal and Ahmad Riziq.

“Being able to garner a gold medal for the Central Java contingent truly made me proud of myself. I would like to express my gratitude to the whole academic community on campus for supporting me in my field of expertise,” Evi Yuliana uttered on the podium.

The Student Affairs Team Congratulated Those Chess Players

Dr. Kusni Ingsih, M.M., the Vice Chancellor III of Student Affairs, expressed her utmost pride for these spectacular accomplishments earned by the chess players; Evi’s tenacious nature was indeed amazing leading to her emerging as a gold medalist. Dr. Kusni hoped for athletes of other sports branches to do their best. Moreover, the Student Affairs team at Udinus also accompanied the players by watching them competing at the National Sports Week.

“We hereby congratulate our talented chess players for their triumphant success. Hopefully, these accomplishments could contribute to the Central Java contingent trophy collection,” Dr. Kusni said. 

On a different occasion, Dinda Putri Lestari, a taekwondo athlete from Udinus, collected a gold medal at the same sports event, the National Student Sports Week XVIII.
