The E-Sports Community at Universitas Dian Nuswantoro (Udinus) once again managed to gather attainment at an event known as the ‘Mobile Legends Heroes Day Tournament.’ At the event, Forus, the team competing for Udinus, triumphantly claimed their champion title.

The competition took place at the Rooms Inc Hotel Semarang on Sunday, November 26th, 2023, in collaboration with Semarang E-Sports Journalist. Moreover, the event was hosted to commemorate National Heroes Day, and it attracted more than 32 teams from various E-Sports communities to compete at the event.

Forus in itself is an E-Sports team from Udinus consisting of six students, including Bryan Arya Kurniawan (an English student), Ricky Febrian and Dazwa Bintang Prayudinanta (both Management students), Nizam Rangga Wardhana (an Informatics student), Naufal Bagus Satria (a Visual Communication Design student), and Rizkinur Syafa’atul Udma (a Broadcasting student).

Ricky Febrian revealed that the team knew about the competition from the Chief of the E-Sports Community, Muhammad Iqbal Esta Maulana. Moreover, Forus was invited by the organizer of the E-Sports event to participate in it.

“At that competition, we underwent various phases, namely a qualification with the best of one (Bo1) system. Then, we managed to make it through the semi-final and the grand finale using the best of three (Bo3) system. At the finale, we were able to outclass our opponents, the Habib Shiki team, with a score of 2-0,” Ricky revealed.

“During the preparations, we had built our chemistry well, Additionally, we have also won various championships of the same level. Chemisty is one of the most important factors to be confident,” Ricky revealed.

As the victor, Forus received an award in the form of funding and voucher from the Rooms Inc. Hotel Semarang.

Arnaz Agung Andrarasmara, the Head of the Indonesian National Sports Committee in Semarang, also gave an appreciation to these six students. In his greetings, Arnaz stated that E-Sports was not merely a hobby but also a sports branch acknowledged by the National Sports Committee. “Through this E-Sports event, hopefully, we could inspire more E-Sports players to showcase their talents and represent Semarang as well as their respective institutions,” he uttered.
