Universitas Dian Nuswantoro (Udinus) was committed to pushing students to always keep learning and studying through a sermon called ‘Intergenerational Sermon’ hosted on Tuesday, October 31, 2023, on the third floor of the E building by the Islamic Student Unit, also known as Matholi’ul Anwar.
The sermon was themed ‘Mental Crisis among the Millennials.’ The Islamic Unit featured a famous young preacher, named Dennis Lim. In the sermon, the young preacher reminded the audience, particularly students to diligently study and not give up on leading their lives.
“It is indeed exhausting to study. Knowledge can be portrayed as an invisible tiara, but this tiara can make your words carry more weight. It is like our worldly asset, but knowledge cannot be stolen or raided. Through knowledge, we can also increase our self-value as human beings,” he uttered.
In addition, he also asked the students to gain their trust in God and involve Him in every aspect of life. This is because humans, no matter in any condition, will always need divine assistance from the Omnipotent One. “Whether you like it or not, we will always need God. So, just believe in Him, and thus, He will ease our burdens,” he emphasized.
Nur Rokman, S.Sh., M.Kom., one of the event organizers, mentioned that the sermon was attended by dozens of participants with an enthusiastic atmosphere radiating around the venue. The participants were not only students but also several people from the general public and faculty members. He hoped that the sermon presented by Dennis Lim could push students to strengthen their mentality and study even more diligently.
“Dennis Lim is currently popular among millennial students. Hopefully, his sermon could touch the heart of our audience. In addition, his explanation regarding strong mentality and faith could wishfully encourage students to keep facing the obstacles in life,” he concluded. (Humas Udinus/Ika. Foto: Dok. TVKU)
