Roughly 6.192 high school students scattered across the nation competed at the 2024 Dinus Festival. The event, hosted by Universitas Dian Nuswantoro (Udinus), served as a platform for students to showcase their talents, both in the field of academic and non-academic.
The annual event was opened by several appearances of student organizations, with a gong strike conducted by Prof. Dr. Ir. Edi Noersasongko, M.Kom., the Chancellor of Udinus, officially opening this series of events. Dinusfest will last from January 20th to 31st, 2024.
Dr. Kusni Ingsih, M.M., the Vice Chancellor III of Student Affairs, stated that there were 73 different contests at the 2024 Dinusfest. Those contests consisted of sports, arts, and reasoning. Those thousands of students came from many different cities across Indonesia, including Manado, Denpasar, Kendari, Pontianak, Riau, Wamena, Aceh, and many other regions in Central Java.
“The participants of the 2024 Dinusfest came from many different cities across the nation. Through this event, we are committed to producing many more talented youths excelling in many fields,” she revealed.
The chancellor stated that the 2024 Dinusfest was a creative event presented by Udinus to high school and college students. In addition, the chancellor also hoped for this event to instill a competitive mindset in the participants.
“We will always be committed to providing a platform for students to unleash their creativity through a fair competition. Thus, students would not only learn from classes but also hone their physical and mental strength through this event,” he explained.
Joy and Excitement at the 2024 Dinusfest
During the opening of the 2024 Dinusfest on the third floor of the E building, several prominent figures were present, namely, Prof. Dr. Supriadi Rustad, M.Si. (the Vice Chancellor I of Academic Affairs), Dr. Guruh Fajar Shidik, S.Kom. (the Vice Chancellor I of General and Financial Affairs), Dr. Kusni Ingsih, M.M. (the Vice Chancellor III of Student Affairs), and Dr. Pulung Nurtantio Andono, ST, M.Kom. (the Vice Chancellor IV of Research and Partnership Affairs), Rindra Yusianto, S.Kom., M.T. (the Head of the Student Affairs Bureau at Udinus), and all deans of faculties at Udinus.
During his interview, Pallas Priyasava Mariono, a student from SMA N 1 Semarang, stated that he was glad to participate in the Delcom 2.0, one of the contests featured at the 2024 Dinusfest. This is because he could essentially hone and test his ability against other participants.
“The Dinusfest 2024 is amazing. I have participated in many similar events, and I find Delcom 2.0 to be among the better ones. Hopefully, I can participate in this same event next year,” he concluded.
