Universitas Dian Nuswantoro (Udinus) hosted a seminar entitiled Osis Goes to Campus, which was aimed specifically at high-school students. Through the seminar, students received many knowledge and insight concerning leadership, particularly becoming an ideal leader in the future.
The seminar, which was also a part of a bigger event known as the 2024 Dinusfest, took place on the third floor of the E building on Monday, January 22nd, 2024. The event was organized by the Student Executives at Udinus. In addition to the seminar, there was also a talk show featured at the event.
On that occasion, two speakers were present, including Dr. Kusni Ingsih, M.M. (the Vice Chancellor III of Student Affairs) and Muhammad Khoirul Anam (the President of the Student Executives). Generally, both speakers stated that the character of a leader could eventually emerge from an individual. To attain this character of a leader, one must learn what it truly means to be a leader.
Sayyid Rizky Saoutra, the Head of the Committee, explained that Osis Goes To School aimed to introduce high-school students to technological advancements combined with leadership skills. Additionally, this event was themed ‘Facing the Digital Era with Technology and Technopreneurship.’
“In addition to the seminar and talk show, business idea contest was also hosted to provide a platform for high school students to express their ideas. We garnered a total of 169 participants cosisting of student council members at their respective school,” he reported.
The Importance of Character Education
On the same occasion, Valentina Widya S. SS., M.Hum. (the Head of the Talent and Interest Sector at the Student Affairs Bureau) also made an appearance. Hopefully, students could effectively participate in the event, as well as garner new insight from the speakers. According to her, character education was a fundamental aspect for youths.
“Utilize this opportunity to its fullest so you can learn character education and leadership. Moreover, you will also engage in a simulation on how to possess leadership. This is because we would like all of you to become good leaders one day,” she concluded.
For additional information, there were also several contests aimed at college students, and the public were also hosted at the 2024 Dinusfest.
