Out of dozens of contest at the 2024 Dinusfest, there were several contests held of the same agenda every year. One of those contests is the First Aid Competition, which is commonly hosted by the Red Cross Corps at Universitas Dian Nuswantoro (Udinus). At that competition, students are obliged to simulate helping an accident victim.

Using the theme “The Implementation of Humanity,” the contest was participated by 108 students, who were grouped into 27 different teams. Every team consisted of four students, and the farthest students participating in this contest were from SMA Karanganyar, Surakarta. The First Aid Competition aimed to enliven the atmosphere of the 2024 Dinusfest, taking place on January 20th, 2024. Apparently, the number of contestants exceeded the target aimed by the committee.

“We held the First Aid Competition as students were pushed to showcase their knowledge concerning medical aspect. Initially, we only aimed to get 27 teams, but it turned out that we were unexpectedly visited by two more teams,” Inez Nagata Putri, the Head of Red Cross Corps at Udinus, explained.

The system of this competition would give an example to students concerning accident cases. Then, the participants would be obliged to implement a first aid method for fifteen minutes. According to Inez, the competition featured judges from the Red Cross Corps of Central Java and Semarang.

The First Aid Competition took place on the fifth floor of the D building. Additionally, this competition also marked the beginning of a bigger event, namely, the 2024 Dinusfest. As for the rewards, the winner would get certificates, funds, and scholarships.

At her speech, Fitria Dewi Puspita Anggraini S.KM., M.Sc., the Instructor of the Red Cross Corps at Udinus, encouraged high school students to hold a high sense of integrity during the competition.

“All participants must possess an integrity, as this competition exceeds the target number of participants and features competent judges,” she said.

This event will feature several contests concerning various fields, including art, sports, and technology. The 2024 Dinusfest itself is an event consisting of competitions, expos, and webinars, which have routinely been hosted by Udinus.

The competition is available not only for students but there are dozens of other contests for college students and the general public.
