Once again, accomplishments earned by athletes are listed on the achievement records of Universitas Dian Nuswantoro (Udinus). The accomplishments were attained specifically by the Karate unit at Udinus, with a total of 16 medals earned at the National Chancellor Karate Championship several days prior.

The karate championship was held by a private university in Semarang. The championship lasted for two days from Saturday, February 2nd, 2024 at the Prof. Sudarto Stadium. At the competition, karate athletes from Udinus managed to garner 16 medals, with eight of them being gold medals, three being silver medals, and two being bronze medals. Furthermore, two athletes also managed to gather two bronze medals. Those two athletes were students of the Communication Science Department of the 2023 cohort, namely, Faradilla Syahrini Nurfitri and Chivia Insyra Gunawa.

Consistency

The successes of these athletes were shaped by their dedication to preparing themselves for this competition. Getta Shafada, one of those athletes, hoped for him and other athletes to earn even more medals in the years to come.

“Our dedication and training have finally come to fruition. However, the campus has also provided us with excellent facilities, allowing us to push our potential to their limits,” he uttered.

On a separate occasion, Dr. Rindra Yusianto, S.Kom., M.T., the Head of the Student Affairs Bureau at Udinus, expressed his pride in the attainments earned by those talented athletes. Moreover, he also stated that every form of accomplishment would be appreciated by the campus.

“Udinus will always appreciate both academically accomplished students and non-academically ones. This is among many forms of support the campus gives to accomplished students. Hopefully, this support can motivate other students to make a name for our alma mater,” he concluded. (Humas Udinus/Haris. Foto: Dok. UKM Karate)
