Udinus Basketball Unit Provides a Platform for Young Basketball Athletes through 3 on-3 Basketball Competition

The Basketball Student Activity Unit (UKM) of Universitas Dian Nuswantoro (Udinus) provides a platform for high school/Vocational School Students and the General Public to develop their talents in the field of basketball. The platform was initiated through 3 on 3 Basketball Competition. This event is also a part of the 2024 Dinusfest 2024 series of activities.

Participated by 37 participants, this annual competition is divided into two categories. The first category is for high school/vocational school and its equivalence, and the second category is for the general public. The competition was conducted on the Nakula Field in the Udinus campus area. The event lasted for two days starting on Monday (29/01/2024).

The Chairman of the Udinus Basketball Unit, Bima Dafa Rizkya Kartika Aji explained the matchmaking system that was used in this event is called the pool system. Where each team will compete against other teams according to the category followed.

“Through the pool system, the team that achieved the highest points will compete in the semifinals and finals to fight for the champion title. In detail, there are 24 men's teams and 16 women's teams participating in this year's event," Bima added. It is hoped that we can take part in bringing out the talents of new athletes to uphold the name of Central Java Province and Indonesia," said Bimo.

Generally, the teams from high school/vocational schools that participated in the event came from various regions including inside and outside Semarang City, such as Pati, Grobogan, Ambarawa, and Pekalongan.

Appreciation For Athletes

The Head of the Student Affairs Bureau (Bima) Udinus, Dr. Rindra Yusianto, SKom., MT., expressed his hope in his speech that the annual 3 x 3 Basketball Competition at Dinusfest could improve each year. Including both in terms of the quality of the event and the number of participants.

"This event is also a form of appreciation from Udinus for volleyball athletes who are still in high school. The purpose of this competition is to train them to be able to compete at the level of the Indonesian National Team," said Dr. Guruh

The 2024 Dinusfest event is not only available for high school students. There are also dozens of other competitions for college students and the general public. In total, there are 36 competitions available which will be held for more than 2 weeks, starting from January 20 until the upcoming February 5, 2024.
