Hera Irnandha, a karate athlete who is also a student of the Bachelor of Management Program at Universitas Dian Nuswantoro (Udinus) once again carved her name on the international stage. At the Asean University Games (AUG) 2024, she attained a brilliant achievement by taking home two gold medals at once.
The AUG competition was attended by more than 4000 athletes from 11 countries competing in various sports. Hera, one of the five Indonesian representatives in this event, showed her resilience by winning gold medals in the Individual Kumite +68 Kg Putri and Women's Team Kumite categories, competing with the best athletes from the ASEAN region.
"I am very proud and grateful for this opportunity to represent Indonesia," said Hera.
She also admitted that her hard work in training paid off with this brilliant achievement for the Indonesian region. Support from various parties, including Dian Nuswantoro University (Udinus), further motivated her to provide the best on the international stage.
“This achievement made my heart melt. Thank you to everyone who has supported me throughout this AUG competition," said Hera.
Dr. Rindra Yusianto, MT, Head of the Student Affairs Bureau (Bima) Udinus, also expressed his pride in the achievements of Hera and other Udinus athletes. According to Dr. Rindra, non-academic achievements like this are a pride for the university.
"We always support our students in various fields including sports. Hera has proven her ability by winning a gold medal at the ASEAN level," he said.
In addition to Hera Irnandha, the brilliant achievement was also achieved by four other Udinus students: Dinda Putri Lestari (Taekwondo), Ahmad Hafid (Rock Climbing), Muhammad Albagir (Futsal), and Evi Yuliana (Chess), who also contributed pride to Indonesia at the Asean University Games.
