The Health Science Faculty at Universitas Dian Nuswantoro (Udinus) inaugurated 363 freshmen on the first day of the faculty session of the 2024 Dinus Inside. The inauguration took place on Monday, September 9th, 2024. It marked the beginning of their academic journeys here at Udinus.

On that occasion, Enny Rachnmani, S.KM., M.Kom., Ph.D., the Dean of the Health Science Faculty at Udinus, directly inaugurated the freshmen, with these freshmen being represented by three representatives from three different departments in the Health Science Faculty. These departments consist of the Public Health Department, the Environmental Health Department, and the Diploma of Medical Records and Information Department.

During her opening speech, Enny emphasized that it is important for students to raise a concern about their changes in attitudes and character development. This is because they are high school students no more.

“They are university students now and should be treated like adults. For this reason, students need to actively uphold their sense of character,” she emphasized.

The active character here means that students must actively look for information, instead of wait for it to come. Furthermore, the dean also reminded the freshmen concerning self-management skills.

At the inauguration, the dean also stated that students must be able to balance both academic activities and self-development activities by joining student organizations. On campus, there are many student organizations to choose from.

“Students must properly manage themselves. It encompasses how you develop your competence with various organizational activities, without having to abandon academic activities,” she continued.

By balancing self-development and self-management, the dean hoped for students to properly embody the Tri Dharma philosophies. These philosophies include conducting education, research, and community services.

“Hopefully, new students will be able to conduct and finish their education, research, and community services. By doing so, they will uphold the name of their alma mater wherever they are,” she concluded. (Humas Udinus/Ika. Foto: Humas Udinus)
