The Economics and Business Faculty at Universitas Dian Nuswantoro (Udinus) encouraged freshmen to hone their mindsets by hosting an event, Denok Kenang. This event was part of an event known as the Faculty Session of the 2024 Dinus Inside. The Denok Kenang was held on the first day of the event on Monday, September 9th, 2024.

Held at the Mangga Dua Courtyard at Udinus, this year’s Denok Kenang employed the theme of ‘Creative Economy,’ which combines both local cultural aspects and global perspectives. It was attended by 530 freshmen.

During his interview, Reza Alvinanto (the Governor of the Student Executives Board in the Economics Business Faculty at Udinus) revealed that this event aimed to bring positive changes to the freshmen. Furthermore, it also aimed to improve their solidarity, responsibility, and bonds.

“This event is expected to hone their mindsets. With this Denok Kenang event, freshmen are also expected to improve their mindsets and develop inclusivity and innovative thoughts,” he uttered.

He also explained the technicality of this event. Reza said that the freshmen were grouped to present an essay, which they were obliged to write per the theme. During the essay presentation, the freshmen showcased various creative ideas integrating local cultures from a global economics perspective.

“Ten selected groups were presenting their works before their fellow freshmen. Out of all selected groups, there will be six groups going to the semi-final stage,” he explained.

The Denok Kenang is a featured event endorsed by the Economics and Business Faculty at the Dinus Inside. Before the faculty session, freshmen were obliged to attend the first day of the Dinus Inside started with the university session. The 2024 Dinus Inside itself is an event consisting of student orientation activities and student inauguration, which every freshman at Udinus must attend. (Humas Udinus/Ika. Foto: Humas Udinus)
