Dr. De Rosal, Ignatius Moses Setiadi, M.Kom., a lecturer from the Informatics Department at Universitas Dian Nuswantoro (Udinus), once again proved himself in the academic sector. Recently, he managed to be included in the top 2% of researchers on the globe, an astounding feat that led him to be among the most influential lecturers in the Information Technology field.
For additional information, the accomplishment was included in “World’s Top 2% Scientist 2024” according to Stanford University and Elsevier.
Dr. De Rosal’s achievement in the research sector has been in his possession since 2022, and he managed to keep it to this day. This was possible due to his consistency in writing and publishing Scopus-indexed scientific papers, which are among the biggest academic databases in the world.
The research fields that have become his main focus are Steganography, Artificial Intelligence, and Image Processing. Currently, he also takes an interest in Quantum Studies, as they hold immense potential in the future.
“In every study, I try to explore various topics that will immensely impact the IT field, particularly in the sector of Artificial Intelligence, Image Processing, and Quantum, which bears an excellent potential,” he revealed during his interview.
Dr. De Rosal also revealed that his accomplishment was not easy to accomplish. It takes dedication, commitment, and willingness to learn in order for him to be the Top 2% researcher in the world.
“This is because every study takes a long process, including idea development, data collection, and publication. I can say for sure that every single one of those processes is a part of important lessons,” he uttered.
Dr. De Rosal’s accomplishments did not only serve as a token of pride for Udinus but also brought positive impacts to both the education and research fields on Earth. With more academicians from Indonesia becoming researchers, this proves that human resources in Indonesia can significantly contribute to the development of global science.
In addition, Dr. De Rosal’s contribution to the academic sector is inseparable from the support from the academic community at Udinus which pushes students and faculties to come up with innovations.
Prof. Dr. Ir. Edi Noersasongko, M.Kom., the Chancellor of Udinus, expressed her pride for the accomplishment earned by Dr. De Rosal. According to him, this accomplishment could open an opportunity for Udinus to tie collaborations with international universities and research institutions, allowing new innovations in the academic sector to take form.
“This also shows that our academicians are able to compete on an international level. Hopefully, this also could serve as a motivation for both students and other faculties to conduct more quality research,” Prof. Edi uttered. (Humas Udinus/Alex. Foto: Humas Udinus)
