The Medicine Faculty (FK) at Universitas Dian Nuswantoro (Udinus) hosted a talent show for the freshmen, which was entitled ‘FK Got Talent.’ The show took place in the courtyard of the K building on Wednesday, September 11th, 2024. It aims to lure students to show their latent talents.

At the event, students were grouped into teams, with their kinds of performance being determined by taking a raffle. This year, five teams participated in the talent show, with each team presenting their featured performances. On that occasion, judges comprised of the faculty members of the Medicine Faculty were also present to see the talents delivered by students.

Alya Rahmaduna, the Person in Charge of this event, revealed that the talent show aimed to provide a platform for new students to be more courageous in showing their capabilities.

“We host the ‘FK Got Talent’ to improve their confidence. Through this talent show, the freshmen are expected to not only excel in academics but also in expressing themselves before the public,” Alya uttered.

In addition to the talent show, the event also offered numerous titles and prizes in various categories, including the Best Men’s and Women’s Performance, the Best Coordinator, Twibbon, Door Prizes, Quizzes, Introduction Videos, and other awards for the FK Got Talent.

During her interview, Alya also shared that they faced numerous challenges in organizing this event. According to her, the limited number of volunteers to organize this event was the most apparent one, with a total of 27 volunteers. These volunteers had to handle the entire three-day event.

“We were overwhelmed because of our understaffed committee. However, it does not change the fact that the show itself was fun and inspiring, as this is the first time the Medicine Faculty hosts the Dinus Inside alongside all faculties on campus. Therefore, this a special moment for us,” she explained.

Concluding the interview, Alya revealed that the freshmen were seen as enthusiastic at the student orientation, particularly on the first day and the third day. “They were filled with enthusiasm on the first day, although on the second day, they seemed too fatigued because of the long period of lecture,” she explained.

The FK Got Talent is expected to be an annual agenda to provide a platform for freshmen to explore and showcase their talents before the public.

As additional information, the Dinus Inside itself is a student orientation event for freshmen, with a total of 3,567 freshmen participating in the event. The event, lasting from September 9th to 11th, 2024, aims to introduce freshmen to the academic systems and various crucial aspects on campus. (WTDN/Cantika. Foto: WTDN)
