An innovative product by students of Universitas Dian Nuswantoro (Udinus) named ‘Bandeng Asap Cair’ made it to the finale of the 2024 Entrepreneurship Award VIII 2024. The product was a continuation of their previous success at the Student Independent Entrepreneurship Program last year, and currently, the product has stolen the public’s attention at the 2024 Entrepreneurship Award, being the second most popular product among the audience at the event.

Magumi Avrora Iftita, the leader of the Bandeng Asap Cair team, revealed that this accomplishment was such a prideful moment, as they managed to stand their ground against thousands of other competitors. “We have put our best effort into our products and brought our products to a whole new level, allowing the masses to know further about our products,” he explained.

Out of 5000 proposed ideas, only 100 were accepted in the finale at the award ceremony held at Universitas Jambi. Magumi explained that her team’s preparation for this award was a challenging one, as the time for their preparation was fairly limited.

“After our proposal was accepted to be presented at the finale, we only had a week to prepare our video and expo at Universitas Jambi. The challenge was mainly this short amount of time, but we managed to sort everything out,” he revealed.

Additionally, the team also used this opportunity to expand their market reach outside Java Island. This is because the award was hosted in Jambi, which is located on Sumatera Island. This event allowed the team to see a whole new market potential in Jambi.

With the aim to introduce their products in various entrepreneurial events outside Java Island, the Bandeng Asap Cair team hoped to be able to further innovate and inflict positive impacts in the sector of processed food in Indonesia.

“I’m sure that milkfish products are not common in Jambi, so my team and I brought many of our products, and thank God, our products were sold well there,” Magumi revealed.

The Bandeng Asap Cair team consisted of five students, including Angeline Dayatri W.D., Joseph Lampa Tuerah, Magumi Avrora Iftita, Mohammad Bakhrudin, and Nila Mismaidah. In addition to seeking victory, the team also sought to expand their networking and branding of their products to widen their market segment.
