Dinda Putri Lestari, a student and a Taekwondo athlete at Universitas Dian Nuswantoro (Udinus), has recently finished her studies at the 82nd Graduation at Udinus. Becoming an athlete and student at the same time was not a burden for Dinda, who was a Management student.

Dinda has undoubtedly earned countless accomplishment on the international level. Recently, she has succeeded earning a gold medal at the 2024 21st ASEAN University Games (AUG), and the Kasad 6th Asian Taekwondo Open Championship.

Prior to every competition, Dinda, born in January 11, 2001, claimed that she regularly practiced her skills through training. In September 2024, Dinda also claimed glory at the National Sports Week XXI of North Sumatra-Aceh by earning a gold medal for the Central Java contingent. She even managed to get this particular medal in the Sports Branch two consecutive times in the Kyorugi -73kg Class Category.

“My training for this Sports Week was centralized in Central Java, and it took around two years of training for me to compete in the Sports Week. The training was tough, and I had to push my limits to garner the gold medal in the Taekwondo sports branch,” she explained.

During her busy hours of training, Dinda, a student of the 2019 cohort, occasionally reached out to her lecturers. Her connection with her lecturers was also relatively stable, as she often asked them about her missing assignments and attempts to remedy her grades.

“Udinus has understanding lecturers, as they often reach out to me and wish me luck every time I am going to participate in a competition. Thus, I did not have any problem during my studies at Udinus,” she revealed during her interview at the 82nd Graduation which was held at the Patra Hotel.

Apparently, the Bachelor’s in Management degree did not satisfy her. Dinda decided to continue her studies to get a Postgraduate degree. She was offered by Udinus to further pursue her studies in the Postgraduate Management Department at Udinus.

“I think the knowledge and degree I earned here will eventually be useful when I’m retired as an athlete. They can be used as a way to fortify my career or establish my very own business,” Dinda emphasized.

When she delivered a speech representing all the graduates, Dinda hoped for Udinus to keep maintaining its consistency in supporting its athletes and developing their potential.

“This is important because there are many athletes out there who want to study at Udinus. The support provided by the campus is also extraordinary, namely, by rewarding athletes with scholarships,” Dinda Putri concluded.
