Universitas Dian Nuswantoro (Udinus) hosted the ‘Scientific Visit’ to the Osaka International University (OIU) to extend the partnership between both parties. The visit was also participated by 24 students at Udinus from various departments. It aimed to show the students the development of technology and cultures in Japan.
The partnership extension was marked by the agreement of a Memorandum of Understanding between the two parties on Thursday, November 21st, 2024. It took place at OUI located in Todacho, Moriguchi, Osaka.
On that occasion, Udinus was represented by Prof. Dr. Pulung Nurtantio Andono, S.T., M.Kom., the Vice Chancellor IV of Research and Partnership Affairs. While OIU was represented by Mr. Shoiji Ito, the Vice President of OIU. The agreement was also witnessed by public relations and partnership staff members from both institutions.
Prof. Pulung also explained that the partnership had been running well since 2013, and it will be extended for the next five years. This scientific visit is among the outputs of this partnership between both institutions.
“This visitation is indeed one of the outputs of this partnership. It aims to give students the opportunity to try the facilities and activities at OIU,” Prof. Pulung stated.
Furthermore, Dr. Bayu Aryanto, S.S., M.Hum., the Head of the Japanese Department at Udinus, was also present at the agreement and hoped for this collaboration to inspire and motivate students at Udinus.
Previously, there have been 11 Japanese Literature students from Udinus who studied for a semester at OIU. In addition, there have also been 28 students from OIU participating in a summer course for ten days at Udinus.
“As for the students who studied at OIU, they studied Japanese language proficiency and Japanese culture, which would later be converted to 20 credit hours. Hopefully, this partnership can allow students to improve their skills in understanding various cultures,” he continued.
Meanwhile, Mr. Shoiji Ito, the Vice President of OIU, hoped for the extended partnership to be further improved every year. Furthermore, he also expected more students to get involved in student exchange or visitation programs.
“We also hope for many faculty members to get involved, particularly in research collaboration that would benefit the public,” he concluded. (Humas Udinus/Haris. Foto: Humas Udinus)
