Another special moment was featured at the 82nd graduation at Universitas Dian Nuswantoro (Udinus), with a total of 989 graduated on the occasion the special moment referred to the introduction of a new professor in the Human Resources Management, with the graduation taking place on Wednesday, November 6th, 2024.

During the opening speech, Prof. Dr. Ir. Edi Noersasongko, M.Kom., the Chancellor of Udinus, stated that the new addition of a professor would reinforce Udinus in improving its academic quality and system.

“This accomplishment will also garner more trust from the public that our academicians will keep learning to the point they become professors. This means that the quality of our campus must always be improved,” he uttered.

The graduation was attended by graduates from various study degrees, including bachelor, diploma, applied bachelor, and master, who previously studied in the Computer Science Faculty at Udinus. The graduation was witnessed by their parents, in the Poncowati Room, Patra Hotel & Convention, Semarang.

The chancellor also mentioned that the graduates were given enough resources to embark on their careers as professionals. He was also sure enough that the graduates would get jobs easily or establish their businesses.

“As we already know, many of our graduates hold the cum laude predicate. It shows that our academicians or lecturers teach the students well,” he explained.

As a whole, the graduates graduated from 22 different departments at Udinus, including a doctoral department, two postgraduate departments, 13 undergraduate departments, 3 applied undergraduate departments, and 3 diploma departments.

On that occasion, the academic community was also present as the members of the senate. In addition, Dr. Bhimo Widyo Andoko, S.H., M.H., the Head of the Service Agency at the General Directorate of Higher Education, was present to hand the decree of professor degree appointment.

The decree issued by the Ministry of Education, Culture, Research, and Technology was given to the chancellor of Udinus for Prof. Dr. Dra. Kusni Ingsih, M.M.

Bhimo also congratulated Udinus for its new addition of a professor. According to him, this accomplishment shows that the academic community at Udinus held a high sense of dedication.

“This professor degree shows the commitment of academicians and lecturers at Udinus, and hopefully, it will also fuel the campus to take a further step. This will allow Udinus to show the public the campus’ quality is indeed Excellent as the accreditation says,” Bhimo uttered.

Joy of Becoming an Academician

Meet Prof. Dr. Dra. Kusni Ingsih, S.S., a new professor at Udinus majoring in Human Resources Management. She is the twelfth professor at Udinus, with a total of 32 years of service. She has taught at Udinus since it was known as the Computer and Informatics Academy of Dian Nuswantoro in the early 1990s.

“Becoming an academician for 30 years is not as short as a blink of an eye. The reason I became a lecturer in the first place is that teaching has always been my passion, and I was also taught to involve myself in various organizations since my childhood,” Prof. Dr. Dra. Kusni Ingsih, S.S., the Vice Chancellor III of Student Affairs at Udinus, said.  

Before she held the current position, Kusni Ingsih was also the Vice Chancellor of Academic Affairs in 2010. Her biggest accomplishment was that she was able to lead Udinus into getting the A accreditation at that time. To this day, she has witnessed the rise of Udinus into being accredited as Excellent.

“As the Vice Chancellor III, my goal is to raise the rank of Student Performance Management Information Systems (Simkatmawa) of Udinus. It used to be in the 97th position, and it now stands in the 17th position, with Simkatmawa also being accredited as Excellent. This accomplishment was a fruit of the support provided by the Student Affairs Bureau at Udinus,” Kusni Ingsih uttered.

In addition to campus affairs, she also plays an important role in the National Student Affairs Sector Management Forum (Forpimawa). Kusni was also once chosen as its Coordinator Chairwoman for the Central Java Region in 2023, which was validated at the Committee Inauguration and National Meeting (Rakemas)

Kusni Ingsih also hoped for her professor degree to further contribute to the campus. As a Human Resource (HR) Management professor, Prof. Kusni seeks to improve the HR quality in Indonesia by implementing a digital development model.

“Digital Development needs to be adjusted to students. I will conduct this adjustment by encouraging students to keep conducting research and forming HR that is aware of the digital advancements,” he concluded. (Humas Udinus/Alex. Foto: Humas Udinus)
