The Dinus Innovation Design Community (DID.co) is a student community in the Engineering Faculty at Universitas Dian Nuswantoro (Udinus). Recently, DID.co successfully hosted the ‘Road to the Village for UMKM Product’ program. The program was conducted in Pagilaran Village to help the locals develop their SME packaging.

Pagilaran Village is situated in Batang Regency, Central Java. It was chosen for this program due to its immense potential in SME development. On that occasion, all members of DID.co held a training program for 40 locals on Friday, November 22, 2024.

Birul Wallidain, the head committee of the program, explained that they wandered through remote areas to raise awareness about the importance of digital technology development. This specific event aimed to inflict significant impacts on various aspects of life, including business.

“As digital technology allows them to compete in the competitive market, We, from DID.co, are committed to giving the locals of Pagilaran a training program about digital technology,” he uttered

Birul added that the visit was conducted to identify featured products made by the locals. These products had potential, and would later be marketed to an even wider potential audience. In addition, the program would also discuss product development, branding, digital marketing, and capital access.

“We also open a partnership potential for these SMEs with other businesses, such as the regional government and financial agencies,” said Birul, an Industrial Engineering student at Udinus.

On a different occasion, Ir. Dony Satriyo Nugroho, S.T., M.Sc., IPM., ASEAN Eng., a faculty member in charge of overseeing DID.co., stated that the program was among DID.co’s missions. This mission pushes DID.co members to interact and collaborate directly with the public to resolve a wide range of problems.

“Hopefully, this event would raise awareness about the importance of digital technology among the locals of Pagilaran Village in improving the productivity and competitiveness of their enterprises. Through this program, the locals are also expected to develop packaging of their products,” he concluded. (Humas Udinus/Haris. Foto: Dok. Pribadi)
