There have been many opportunities to develop an online business over the past several years. Knowing this, Hudzaifah Supandi, an alumnus from the Visual Communication Design Department at Universitas Dian Nuswantoro (Udinus) Kediri, has recently made his business enterprise named the Empiris Work. This enterprise is a design studio focusing on branding services, social media designs, products, and interiors.
Hudzifah, better known as Hudz, started his business with partners in December 2023. In his studio, he does not only serve as a founder, but also as a Creative Director, with developing design concepts and ensuring the quality of the design being his responsibilities.
“I also lead my team in creating a design that doesn’t only focus on aesthetics, but also on strategic aspects. Just as we planned, Empiris Work mainly operates online, allowing us to reach clients from various regions, without worrying too much about distance and other geographical aspects,” he uttered.
Prior to establishing Empiris Work, Hudz stated that he started by doing some small projects, including designing calendars and designing simple advertisements. Through his resilience in giving his best, he is currently employed to work on big projects, such as company branding and interior design.
“My primary goal is to help other businesses grow with relevant and professional solutions. In addition, I also provide a workplace for myself and others to maximize their potential in the design field,” Hudz—born on March 12, 2002, in Kediri—explained.
Keeping Consistency
Hudz explained that his biggest challenge was keeping his consistency in meeting such diverse expectations from various clients. Moreover, Hudz must also focus on allocating his time to the development of his enterprise and his daily operational needs.
“Despite being faced with challenges, I still consider the knowledge I learned at Udinus helpful in various aspects. These include branding, layout, strategies, and time management, which is a main foundation for establishing Empiris Work,” he emphasized.
As one of the first graduates in Visual Communication Design at Udinus Kediri, Hudz also claimed that Udinus had many facilities, which supported him and other students in improving their passion even further.
“Before I graduated the facilities were relatively limited, but as I saw them in 2023, the campus had developed more facilities. I think this is a positive change that will lead students to keep honing their competence, particularly relating to design,” Hudz explained.
Through his experiences, Hudz advised students not to be afraid starting from small things per their abilities. “Focus on the qualities within you that you want to improve, don’t hesitate to always learn from experiences, and don’t be afraid of failures,” Hudz, the owner of the @hudzaaifah Instagram account, concluded.
