Universitas Dian Nuswantoro (Udinus) showed its commitment to improving its education system by inaugurating five professors excelling in five fields of study. The inauguration was conducted by the head senate in the ballroom at the Rama Shinta Patra Semarang Hotel & Convention on Wednesday, January 15, 2025.
Two of those professors are from the Economics and Business Faculty at Udinus, namely Prof. Dr. Dra. Kusni Ingsih, M.M.—a professor in Human Resource Management, and Prof. Dr. Yohan Wismantoro, M.M.—a professor in Marketing.
Whereas three of them are from the Computer Science Faculty at Udinus, including Prof. Ir. Nova Rijati, S.Si., IPU., ASEAN—a professor in Image Security, Prof. Dr. Muljono, S.Si., M.Kom—a professor in Machine Learning Optimization, and Prof. Dr. Aris Marjuni, S.Si., M.Kom—a professor in Information Hiding and Image Watermarking.
Those five professors were directly inaugurated by Prof. Dr. Ir. Edi Noersasongko, M.Kom—the Rector of Udinus and the head senate, accompanied by Prof. Dr. Pulung Nurtantio Andono, S.T.—the rector elect. It was witnessed by the whole senate at Udinus, the academic community, faculty members, guests, colleagues, and families.
During his opening speech, Prof. Dr. Ir. Edi Noersasongko, M.Kom., expressed his gratitude to those five professors for achieving the highest academic title. With this inauguration, Udinus officially has 17 professors in various fields of study.
Prof. Edi added that Udinus currently had 130 doctors, with 37 of them having fulfilled the qualifications to be professors.
“We will further motivate them to pursue their professor titles to improve the quality of our education, empower our innovations, and bring our campus to be internationally recognized,” he uttered.
Human Resources as a Crucial Aspect
This inauguration is not only a special prize from Udinus but also an important accomplishment in the academic journey of Udinus. This inauguration is expected to serve as a gear motivating these professors to come up with innovations in their respective fields.
One of the inaugurated professors, Prof. Dr. Dra. Kusni Ingsih, M.M., expressed her utmost gratitude for this title. She also responded to the statement given by the rector concerning academic contribution to the nation.
“I hereby thank all my colleagues for this title. This is a meaningful moment, as we finally gather our unyielding passions here on this very day,” she uttered gratefully.
Prof. Kusni also explained that Human Resources (HR) still played an important role in technological developments. According to her, technology merely served as devices. This is because the most important aspect is how to maintain collaborations and prioritize humans in every innovation.
“Without human collaboration and involvement, technology would not mean much. For that reason, we must focus on the development of human abilities and potential, as humans will always be the main factor in pushing every possible field of study toward development.” Prof. Kusni concluded.
