Universitas Dian Nuswantoro (Udinus) further establishes its position on the international level by partnering with The Universiti Malaysia Terengganu (UMT). The partnership between these two universities was tied to support the Tri Dharma Philosophy, entailing education, research, and community services.

The partnership was marked by a signing of the Memorandum of Understanding between Udinus and UMT. Udinus was represented by Enny Rachmani, S.K.M., M.Kom., Ph.D.—the Dean of the Health Science Faculty at Udinus. While UMT sent Professor Ir. Ts. Dr. Mohd Zamri bin Ibrahim as its representative. The signing took place at UMT, Malaysia, on Monday, January 13, 2025.

During her interview, Enny Rachmani, S.K.M., M.Kom., Ph.D., the Dean of the Health Science Faculty at Udinus, explained that the partnership between Udinus and UMT was tied as a continuation of their previous harmonious relationship. Both campuses have conducted various programs, including student and faculty exchange.

“We have previously sent five of our students to study at UMT, and we have also received 20 students from UMT to study here at Udinus. In addition, faculties from both universities have also shared their knowledge and experiences as guest lecturers at Udinus, as well as UMT," she explained.

Enny Rachmani continued that the MoU signing served as a strategic step to provide foundations for running other programs, including group research, group publications, and opportunities to develop a double-degree program. Enny emphasized that the partnership also aimed to further solidify Udinus’ position in the QS World University Rankings.

“We have also discussed the possibilities of a double-degree program between both institutions. If this program were to be realized, the Environmental Health Department at Udinus would be able to carry out the double-degree program at UMT. This program holds an immense potential, as it can greatly benefit students,” Enny added.

In addition to the double degree program, Enny also hoped for the student exchange program to keep running in the future. Previously, a student exchange program was hosted at Udinus under the name Summer Camp.

“The Summer Camp provided new insight and benefits for students from Udinus and UMT. Hopefully, this MoU could serve as a stepping stone for Udinus to further garner accomplishments in the future,” the dean concluded. (Humas Udinus/Alex. Foto: Dok. Humas FKes)
