Prof. Dr. Pulung Nurtantio Andono, S.T., M.Kom., has officially been inaugurated as the Rector of Universitas Dian Nuswantoro (Udinus) for the 2025 to 2029 incumbency. The event was held with a ceremony and a handover of position from Prof. Dr. Ir. Edi Noersasongko, M.Kom., the Rector of Udinus from 1986 to 2025. It took place on the third floor of the E building, on Thursday, January 30, 2025.

On that occasion, Prof. Dr. Pulung Nurtantio Andono, S.T., M.Kom., was directly inaugurated by Tri Roestanti, S.E., M.M., the Head of the Dian Nuswantoro Foundation. After that, the new rector exclaimed the oath of office, witnessed by the former rector, the whole Dian Nuswantoro Foundation, the academic community at Udinus, and representatives from the Higher Education Service Institute of Region VI Central Java. 

The event continued with the handover of position from the former rector to the new rector, as well as a symbolic handover of the statue and the rector medallion. This symbolizes the beginning of Prof. Pulung’s career as the rector of Udinus.

Prior to this, the Rector Inauguration Decree issued by the Dian Nuswantoro Foundation was also read by Dr. Guruh Fajar Shidik, S.Kom., M.Cs., the Secretary of the Dian Nuswantoro Foundation. The rector's inauguration also took place at the same time as the inauguration of the new Structural Office of Udinus for the 2025 to 2029 incumbency. These offices consist of several positions including, Vice Rectors, Deans, Agency Heads, Bureaus, and the Technical Executive Units.

During his interview, Prof. Dr. Pulung Nurtantion Andono, S.T., M.Kom., expressed his pride in continuing the legacy of Udinus that had been built for more than 40 years. According to him, this was a whole lot of challenges, and he also asked the academic community at Udinus for prayers and blessings to keep improving and maintaining what had previously been established. 

“To be a world-class university, there are many things to be done to further improve this legacy. I will focus on developing digital ecosystems that will integrate with each other from the campus to international scales,” he emphasized. 

Younger Generation’s Turn

Meanwhile, Prof. Dr. Ir. Edi Noersasongko, M.Kom., the former rector, stated that this was the time for the torch to finally be passed to the young generation, at least within Udinus. It has been a general knowledge that Prof. Edi had been the Rector of Udinus for forty years. Since then, Udinus has undergone some transformations, it was initially established as IMKA, then it was changed to the Computer and Informatics Management Academy (AMIK), after that it was an Informatics and Computer Management College Institution, and now it is a whole university. 

“Prof. Pulung is much younger than I am, and he is more energetic and capable than I, who has been the rector for forty years. Hopefully, under his leadership, Udinus can become more powerful, advanced, and contributing,” he uttered.
