Universitas Dian Nuswantoro (Udinus) started 2025 with a prideful accomplishment. This time the library unit at Udinus has recently achieved an award at the Indonesian Bank (BI) Corner Award. The competition involved every library with the BI Corner in Indonesia in Central Java. The award took place on Friday, January 31, 2025.
During his interview, the Chief Librarian at Udinus, Aan Prabowo, S.Hum., M.A., explained that the award was an initiative presented by the Indonesian Bank. This award was conducted to assess the effectiveness of BI Corners in various institutions. Prior to this award, representatives from the Indonesian Bank came to the library at Udinus to review its BI Corner.
“The BI Corner is a form of Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) from the Indonesian Bank. These corners were not only at Udinus but also at other universities. The BI Corner at Udinus was specifically maintained by the central library,” Aan revealed.
During the assessment of the BI Corner, the representatives from the Indonesian Bank review the corner with several aspects, including how the corner was utilized and students’ involvement in using the book collection within the corner. At the award, there were ten nominated finalists comprised of universities in Central Java. After undergoing a series of assessment phases, Udinus was nominated as the top three.
“We handed all the data of books read by students in the corners. The data shows that the BI Corner at Udinus is relatively often visited, as it is used by students for various community activities,” he added.
As a reward for properly maintaining the BI Corner, Udinus got the opportunity to participate in a capacity development program in Jakarta. The reward was given for the good of the BI Corner in the near future.
In addition, some representatives from the Library Unit at Udinus were allowed to visit the BI Museum located in West Jakarta. Aan hoped for the BI Corner at Udinus to keep seeing more development and providing benefits to students.
“We also want the book collection in the BI Corner to be further added, allowing students majoring in economics to gather references. With this accomplishment, we are also committed to managing our academic facilities optimally to provide literacy activities and student development in the future,” he uttered.
Sebagai informasi, BI Corner di UPT Perpustakaan Udinus memiliki sekitar 200 hingga 700 judul buku dengan fokus utama pada ekonomi.
