A triumphant international accomplishment was once again garnered by a student from Universitas Dian Nuswantoro (Udinus), Arista Perdana Putri Darmono. Recently the shooting athlete who was also a Communication Science student at Udinus attained a silver medal at the Asian Shooting Championship (ASC).

The medal was attained in the 10M Air Pistol Mixed Team Category. The Asian Shooting Championship (ASC) itself was held from February 9 to 22, 2025 in Bangkok, Thailand. Arista, better known as Tata, proved her shooting ability among 319 athletes from 24 different countries, including Kazakhstan, China, Japan, Malaysia, Thailand, and India.

Tata, who was a freshman student, explained in the 10M Air Pistol Mixed Team Category, that every athlete was obliged to shoot a bullet within 50 seconds per shot, In the mixed category specifically, the points will be accumulated with the athlete’s teammate.

“Essentially, if my team were to win with higher points than other teams, we would garner two points. The first team that earns an accumulated 16 points will be the champion,” she explained.

Tata admitted that she needed three months to prepare herself for the ASC. These preparations included the shooting techniques and honing the aspects that were lacking.

According to her, despite having not achieved the best, Tata was still glad to represent Udinus in that international championship, which was hosted by the Asian Shooting Confederation (ASC).

“I will further evaluate myself upon this, and I also have two targets in mind, namely, the Sea Games and the Asian Games,” she optimistically hoped.
