Six Athletes from Udinus Compete for the Sukun Badak Volleyball Club and Achieve Accomplishments in the 2025 Central Java Governor Cup

Six students at Universitas Dian Nuswantoro reinforced the Sukun Badak Volleyball Club and won third place in the 2025 Central Java Governor Cup. The cup, specifically the men’s category, was held intensely at the Jatidiri Sports Building, Semarang, on Tuesday, February 11, 2025.

The 2025 Central Java Governor Cup was held for three days from February 3 to 6, 2025. The cup involved many accomplished athletes from various regions in Indonesia. It is recorded that there were 27 volleyball clubs competing in the cup.

The Chief of the Volleyball Student Activity Unit (UKM), Avitya Zoogy Pramana, stated that the cup was hosted by the Central Java Regional Government, which was also a part of the Specta Program (Sport Tourism Event).

“I truly am honored and grateful for the performance of our athletes. This accomplishment wouldn’t be possible without all the hard work, discipline, and solidarity of the team, involving players, coaches, and support from the campus,” he revealed.

Those six athletes were students of the Communication Science Department at Udinus, including Dimas Setiawan, Sapta Rafi Sanjaya, Adik Tri Yulianto, Made Harin Mayena, Rifki Ferdianto, and Juandita Dharmattama.

Meanwhile, Dimas, one of those six athletes, shared the team’s preparation for the championship, including routine training and sufficient rest. Despite all of that, Dimas claimed that the preparation was not enough, as they were not informed about the championship until it was too late.

“Preparation commonly takes three or four weeks, but this time, we only had a week. However, despite this shortage of time, we still did our best to train. Hopefully, in the future, we can do better preparation to achieve even better accomplishments,” he hoped.

On a separate occasion, Dr. Rindra Yusianto, S.Kom., M.T., expressed his appreciation for the national accomplishment attained by the Sukun Badak Volleyball Club. Additionally, Rindra also hoped for athletes from Udinus to keep seeing development, maintaining consistent performance, and accomplishing even more in the upcoming competitions.

“Hopefully, this accomplishment can motivate athletes from other units at Udinus. We also expect many more students to take part in making a name for Udinus in various sports branches,” he concluded. (Humas Udinus/Haris. Foto: Dok. UKM Bola Voli Udinus)
