Hundreds of students attended the Coding Workspace located on the sixth floor of the H building at Universitas Dian Nuswantoro (Udinus) to participate in the Student Entrepreneurship Coaching Workshop Program (P2MW). The workshop was initiated by the Faculty of Computer Science to provide training and coaching to 102 students.

The Vice Dean of Academic Affairs of the Computer Science Faculty, Ir. Pujiono, S.Si., M.Kom., IPM., Asean Eng., mentioned that the workshop aimed to prepare strategies so that students could be prepared to get their proposals funded in the P2MW. This was done by teaching students how to compose an excellent proposal.

Pujiono expressed his joy and appreciation for his students’ enthusiasm in attending the workshop. This enthusiasm was reflected by the abundance of students present and active at the workshop.

“Our students’ enthusiasm in this program is indeed immense, and it is definitely worth appreciation. Hopefully, this workshop would allow students to grasp the basics of entrepreneurship so they could manage their businesses properly. We also hoped for the number of accepted proposals to see even the slightest improvement this year, particularly from students of the Computer Science Faculty,” he uttered.

The Role of LKWU

The event, which was aimed to foster and teach students all about P2MW, also featured individuals from the Entrepreneurship Institute at Udinus (LKWU) as speakers.

The primary topic was presented by the Chief of the Entrepreneurship Institute at Udinus, Dr. Nila Tristiani, S.E., M.Si. During her presentation, she emphasized that in the earlier stage of a business conception, there were many things one must prepare, including designing the product, logo, and packaging.

“For students who are still in the early stages, you need to at least have the prototypes. After that, you must also need to think of the marketing strategy and its segmentation in addition to creating the product itself,” she explained.

Dr. Nila also encouraged students to be more aware of the categories of their businesses, for example, F&B. However, every business must hold its own merits and advantages so that it can fare competitively in the market.

To exemplify this, Nila highlighted a business named ‘Bandeng Asap Cair,’ which was an idea involving a milkfish business proposed by students who received funding last year.

“This business did not only sell milkfish but also used an unconventional steaming technique. If you were to want to come up with a new menu, you would want to conduct research beforehand to ensure that the combination of your ingredients holds some benefits,” she added.

Nila also emphasized that the LKWU at Udinus would keep its commitment to supporting students in developing their innovative and competitive entrepreneurial passion. (Humas Udinus/Ika. Foto: Humas Udinus)
