Universitas Dian Nuswantoro (Udinusis set to send its students to participate in the Student Creativity Program (PKM) and go to the 2025 Pimnas. For students to show their maximum capacity, the Student Affairs Bureau at Udinus hosted the ‘2025 PKM Workshop: Road to Pimnas.’

It took place in the auditorium located on the third floor of the E building at Udinus on Wednesday, March 5, 2025. The workshop was attended by hundreds of students from various departments at Udinus.

The first materials were delivered by a national-level reviewer and the Head of the Student Affairs Bureau at Udinus, Dr. Rindra Yusianto, S.Kom., M.T. On that occasion, he encouraged students to understand the importance of writing a proper proposal.

“In addition to substance, the administration of proposals must also be a topic of discussion. This is because administration is among the earliest stages of the Student Creativity Program (PKM). Make sure that the proposal aligns with the format provided in the guidelines,” he explained.

Additionally, he also emphasized the importance of digging for ideas, providing solutions, and following with trending topics, so that the product of the program can address underlying problems in the public.

Furthermore, Rindra uttered that there were several ways for students to garner ideas, for example, they could read proposals from the previous year that had been successfully funded, conduct a field survey, see local potential, and discuss with their teammates.

“You can also look for the pre-existing ones that haven’t completely finished, as they could be modified to address the underlying problems. Do the ORM, namely, Observe, Replicate, and Modify,” he uttered.

Rindra also mentioned that this was where creative processes took place in creating innovative products. There are three major steps, including unearthing the initial idea, adding a new idea, and combining the two. Thus, an innovation can manifest.

“As its name suggests, the Student Creativity Program deeply involves creativity. Creativity itself is integrative from three major factors within oneself, including cognition, emotion, and abilities. Make your idea to be interesting to empower the public,” he explained.

A Bright Hope to the 2025 Pimnas

On a separate occasion, the Vice Rector III of Student Affairs at Udinus, Prof. Dr. Kusni Ingsih, M.M., revealed that the Student Creativity Program (PKM) was a form of implementation of the Tri Dharma tenets. This is because it empowers, nurtures, and manifests creative ideas from students.

She also hoped for Udinus to produce more proposals, with many of the projects being forwarded to the 2025 Pimnas.

“Students Creativity Program is meant to push students to be able to provide solutions amidst the problems faced by the general public, government, or industry, allowing the country to advance in a better direction. We are committed to making our students represent Udinus in the 2025 Pimnas or the National Student Science Week,” she concluded. (Humas Udinus/Ika. Foto: Humas Udinus)
