The Electrical Engineering Student Association at Universitas Dian Nuswantoro (Udinus) encourages Gen Z to learn the idea of digital transformation within the industry through a national seminar. The seminar was entitled ‘Gen Z’s Role in Facing Digital Transformation in the Work Industry.’
The seminar took place on the third floor of the E building at Udinus, with hundreds of students from the Faculty of Engineering at Udinus, and other campuses. In addition to college students, some of the participants were also high school students from various schools in Semarang City.
The head organizer of this seminar, Libna Bhunuwati Nirwasita, revealed that Gen Z held an important role in pushing digital transformation. According to Libna, Gen Z will dominate various aspects of life in the future.
“We held this national seminar to push the audience to learn about digital challenges in the professional world. We have also revealed several tips and tricks for our audience, which mainly consisted of students with backgrounds in electrical engineering, to serve as a provision for their future career,” Libna revealed.
Furthermore, Libna mentioned that the seminar was divided into three sessions with three speakers. The first session featured the Quality Controller Synthesis 4. B, Eko Nurhadi, discussed a topic about telecommunication engineering systems. The second session featured Arif Suryanto, the Head of the Synthesis Resort of C 4.7 and the Daop 4 Monitoring Unit, with the topic being training to dispatch monitoring systems for accelerating the treatment of disorders on sintel Daop 4 train dispatching systems of Semarang.
Meanwhile, the last session featured the Head of the Student Affairs Bureau at Udinus, namely, Dr. Rindra Yusianto, S.Kom., M.T. During his session, Rindra highlighted the role of the campus in fostering Gen Z to be ready for their career in the industry. There are several work culture adaptations experienced by Gen Z.
“Gen Z is a generation with dee awareness toward technology, compared to their predecessors. They have also implanted the work-life balance mindset. Uidnus has facilitated its students to adapt to the industry, as well as adjusted itself to align with Gen Z’s work style,” he revealed.
“Our facilities include labs to improve students’ digital skills, as well as a room specifically designed to explore creativity and innovations in the F building. This room is open for all students to collaborate,” he concluded.
