Universitas Dian Nuswantoro (Udinus) collaborated with the Housing and Residence Service of Central Java (Disperakim) to support regional development and public welfare. This collaboration was tied at the same time as the 2025 Field Study and Community service initiated by the Student Executive Board Student Family (BEM KM) at Udinus of the Arah Juang cabinet for the 2024/2025 incumbency.
The community service was conducted in Kandangan Sub-district, Temanggung Regency, Central Java, with 230 students being involved from 15 different campus organizations. This event aimed to empower nine villages by developing their local potential and recording data concerning unhabitable homes.

The Head of the Student Affairs Bureau at Udinus, Prof. Dr. Rindra Yusianto, S.Kom., M.T., stated in his opening speech that this community service program was relevant, as it could help the local government in sending aid accurately to the locals, as well as fostering life quality among locals.
“With this field study and community service, we trained our students to be more contributing by serving the locals directly. Around 15 student organizations were involved, per their expertise to nurture the locals of these nine villages,” he revealed.
Moreover, the Head Executive of the 2025 Activists’ Field Study and Community Service, Avel Jealng Ramadhani, explained that the main event done by students encompasses presenting learning materials, planting 1,000 trees, installing road signs, fixing the subdistrict’s facilities, and supplying trash bins.
“To give the locals opportunities, we also developed hydroponic and aquaponic soils. This community service is expected to leave a positive impact for the locals to utilize,” he uttered.
An Attempt to Update the Data
To earn knowledge about recording data about unhabitable homes, students learned from a housing management staff member from Disperakim, Aulia Amardani Nur Rakhman, S.Ars., through his presentation. The presentation was done during the Global Coordination Meeting of the 2025 Activists’ Field Study and Community Service.

Aulia Amardani Nur Rakhman revealed that this collaboration was dynamic, as the number of unhabitable homes in Central Java was too abundant. Students were not given a specific target. Instead, they were instructed to record accordingly per the schedule to uphold optimal performances.
“We have taught students the standard of recording unhabitable homes. They will later be supervised by the village authorities in interviewing homeowners, assessing homes’ conditions, recording, and updating data to the pre-existing system,” he concluded.
In addition to improving students’ soft skills, this community service program is also helpful for the government, particularly in speeding up the updating process about recording unhabitable homes. This is because this process is crucial to ensure the accuracy of future public aids.
As additional information, in the 2025 Activists’ Field Study and Community Service, student organizations will be grouped per the necessities and urgencies of respective villages. The program will last for three days, starting from Thursday, June 12, 2025. The event started with the departure of these students to their assigned villages and the launching of the subdistrict’s website. It will end with an artistic performance from participants and the locals.
