Eight students of Universitas Dian Nuswantoro (Udinus) were successfully qualified to participate in the Garuda Research and Academic Excellence (Garuda Ace) Program. Through this program, they will be granted opportunities to conduct research with professors from the best universities in the USA.

Currently, Udinus has sent eight students to participate in this program. Those eight students were Afinzaki Amiral, Syafira Rosa Amalia, Michael Indrawan, Gidhan Bagus Algary, Nabila Zibriza Farsya, Muhammad Rafid, Muhammad Daffa Al Fahreza dan Zahra Nabila Maharani. All of them were Informatics students, who would later conduct research concerning computer science under the supervision of professors.

To conduct this program, students must possess admirable knowledge in the field of computer science, and this knowledge must also be computer science relevant with research area of the professors. In addition, English communication skills are also important.

Zahra Nabila, one of the students participating in the Garuda ACE program, stated that this program would allow her to improve her international worldview. Furthermore, Zahra also shared that she and her other seven friends initially received information about this program from a faculty member. This led to all those students signing up for this program and finding the best lecturers to instruct them in their research.

“After that, I submitted my resume and my instructing lecturer’s resume. Then, we were interviewed by the Financial Funding Management Agency (LPDP),” she explained.

Following the research, those students would receive a recommendation letter from American professors to continue their studies to get a Ph.D. degree. For additional information, the Garuda ACE itself is a brand-new program initiated by the Independent Campus Agency aimed at students committed to collaborate with professors from the USA.

On a different occasion, Prof. Dr. Ir. Edi Noersasongko, M.Kom., (the Chancellor of Udinus) stated that the whole academic community would always be committed to supporting students in garnering accomplishments and innovating. This support allows students to adapt with the current global order and improve their capability as researchers. Moreover, students will also learn various strategies to be agents of change.

“This program is in line with our current goal of Udinus Excellent and Udinus Goes International. Hopefully, students can learn properly through this program, allowing them to enhance their competence in the field of research,” the chancellor concluded. (Humas Udinus/Alex. Foto: Humas Udinus)
