Committed to contributing to the field of technology, Universitas Dian Nuswantoro (Udinus) gave support to the Indonesian Research Ethic and Service Committee (Keppin). Through this support, both of them developed and app to study research ethics.

The support was embodied in an agreement of the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) taking place in the conference room on the first floor of the H building. Furthermore, it was held on Wednesday, November 16th, 2022, with a partnership agreement conducted by the Dinus Teknologi (Dinustek) Unit and the Health Science Faculty being the continuation of this agreement.

The agreement was primarily conducted by Prof. Dr. Ir. Edi Noersasongko, M.Kom., (the Chancellor of Udinus), Mohammad Sidiq, S.Si., (the Head of the Dinustek), and Enny Rachmany, SKM, M.Kom., Ph.D., (the Dean of the Health Science Faculty).

Meanwhile, from the Keppin, dr. Triono Sundoro, M.Sc., M.Phill, Ph.D., (the Chairman of Keppin) was also present to sign the agreement. On that occasion, he explained that this collaboration served as a way to implement a policy enacted by the government concerning the change of every manual system into digital.

To support this policy, both Keppin and Udinus developed an app named the Study of Research Ethic Protocol Digitalization (digiTEPP). This app would allow every research process to be proposed and studied in a quicker and simpler way. This is because all data is stored in a server handled by the Dinustek at Udinus.

“There are several advantages of using this app, including its online capability, user-friendlydesign. Essentially, our app will allow researchers to simplify their research,” dr. Triono explained.

For additional information, Keppin is an agency serving as a law-based platform for the Ethical Research Committee (KEP). It has the purpose to support the government as the regulator to establish a new KEP(K).

Prof. Dr. Ir. Edi Noersasongko, M.Kom., hoped for this collaboration to positively impact the research sector in the future. Furthermore, the chancellor revealed that Udinus would be committed to contributing to the technological sector using its resources.

“Hopefully, Udinus and Keppin can contribute more to the field of technology, as a way to support researchers. We also hope for the human resources from both parties to utilize this collaboration properly,” he concluded. (Humas Udinus/Haris. Foto: Humas Udinus)
