EMBARKED HER JOURNEY AS AN AMATEUR, SITI AMINAH, A MANAGEMENT STUDENT AT UDINUS, BECAME A PROFESSIONAL IN TABLE TENNIS SPORTS BRANCH

The name Siti Aminah is not a stranger in the table tennis sports branch. Aminah, an Undergraduate Management student at Udinus, had achieved many national and international accomplishments in the table tennis sports branch.

There were several accomplishments Aminah won including, first place in the Terry Palmer Inter Master Women’s Single Table Tennis League 2023/2024, first place in the 2022 PB PTMSI Manado Women’s Duo National Competition, third place in the Bangkok Junior Girls Single SEAJCTTC 2022/2023.

She admittedly claimed that she has played table tennis since her preschool years. Initially, she exclusively played table tennis with her relatives. After some time, she became fond of it and attended some training programs in her hometown. “In 2020, I joined the Table Tennis Association (PTM) in Sukun,” Aminah uttered.

Starting her training at a young age, Aminah revealed that she was not able to play with her friends since she used most of her time to practice.

“However, I must bury those emotions as I wanted to be an athlete, but those depressive emotions were paid off by the accomplishments I have achieved all these years,” she said.

Aminah, born in Kediri, in 2003, also mentioned that her coach always taught her new lessons and gave her passionate challenges so she would be able to keep up in the national and international table tennis competitions.

“I could interact and get along with many friends as I frequently participate in many competitions. Some of them are foreigners from many different countries I met during the international competitions, thence my relation scope began to extend,” Aminah explained.

Despite being immensely active as a professional athlete and representing the Garuda Team in the International competition, Aminah did not just drop her duty as a management student. During her training, Aminah attends the online class, thanks to the support of lecturers and the student affairs group.

“Alhamdulillah, Udinus always supports the athletes to be successful, so it is not difficult to manage my training and school time. Hopefully, I could get new achievements and improve to be better than ever before,” said Aminah who owned the @sa_jackss Instagram account.

Aminah also encouraged the youths, especially students at Udinus to pursue their respective fields. “To all my friends who are interested in table tennis, keep your chin up and contribute to the Indonesian Table Tennis Community starting from this very moment,” she concluded.
