‘Denok Kenang’ closed the 2023 Dinus Inside Event at the Faculty of Economics and Business (FEB) at Universitas Dian Nuswantoro (Udinus). This event served as a platform for new students to showcase themselves and hone their critical thinking skills, particularly in the economic field.
Among 725 first-year FEB students of the 2023/2024 cohort, 6 Denok Kenang couples were appointed during the final session, which took place in the Mangga Dua Court Udinus on Wednesday, September 6th, 2023. The final session commenced with a catwalk performance by the appointed couple. Besides the catwalk, the participants also showcased their talents through singing, poems, and quatrain.
Ifnu Setya Alfaturachman, the Governor of the Student Executive (BEM) of the Economics and Business Department, explained that the following event after the introduction was a debate session. With a total of three topics, the participants had to discuss each other’s opinions.
“All topics are related to the ‘green economy’, which is in line with the main theme of the current Dinus Inside Event. Through this debate, we are trying to train the new students’ mindset to think more critically and become a leader,” said Ifnu.
He also added that there are three judges consisting of lecturers at the Faculty of Economics and Business, namely Ratna Herawati, S.E., M.Si, Maria Safitri S.E., M.M., CFP, and Guruh Taufan S.E., M.Kom.
As one of the judges, Guruh Taufan S.E., M.Kom., said that the scoring criteria were divided into several types. “We are not only judging based on the physical appearance and their responses toward the given questions, but we also pay attention to their performance on stage,” continued Guruh.
Prima Dwita Barleana, an undergraduate student in the Management program who was also one of the Denok participants, said that she got the chance to challenge herself, especially since it was her first time participating in the 'Denok Kenang' Event.
“I was very nervous, I didn’t even think that I would be appointed. After that, I felt more curious about how far my courage was. Luckily, the event was very amusing.
