Universitas Dian Nuswantoro (Udinus) dispatched five athletes from the Table Tennis Unit to participate in the Group Table Tennis Championship in South Papua.

The championship was a form of collaboration between the Indonesian Table Tennis Association of South Papua and the headquarter of the same organization. These five athletes will compete from November 20th to 25th, 2023. The competition took place at the Head SAI Sports Building located at Prajurit St., Maro, Merauke Subdistrict.

Kelima atlet yang akan berangkat adalah mahasiswa Program Studi (Prodi) S-1 Manajemen Udinus. Untuk kelas senior atlet yang bertanding antara lain Dwi Oktaviany Sugiarto, Cindy Marcella Putri, Siti Aminah, dan Hafidh Nuur Annafi. Sementara untuk kelas Junior sekaligus Senior diikuti oleh Affan Mauludana Pratama.

Upon departing the athletes, Dr. Rindra Yusianto, S.Kom., M.T., the Head of the Student Affairs Bureau at Udinus, expressed his utmost appreciation and pride. According to him, this championship could serve as an opportunity for the said athletes to achieve accomplishments at the national event. Moreover, he also claimed that the Student Affairs Bureau would give the best support possible to sustain the needs of these athletes to accomplish the finest achievements.

“We hope for those student-athletes to maintain their champion mentality, focus, and competence in competing against other athletes. Additionally, we will also support them to garner the best accomplishments possible,” he uttered.

“Atlet yang juara di ajang nasional seperti ini juga akan kami apresiasi dengan beasiswa kuliah. Harapannya apresiasi itu bisa menjadi motivasi mereka untuk memberikan yang terbaik di ajang kali ini,” tambah Rindra.

Prior to this, these athletes had also made a name for the campus at the regional level, namely at the 2023 Regional Sports Week VIII in East Java, last September.
