The E-Sports team from Universitas Dian Nuswantoro (Udinus) managed to win first place at the 2023 PUBG Mobile Campus Championship (PMCC). The national competition was participated by 1.160 teams from various campuses in Indonesia.
The team from Udinus known as UDINUSXGOD successfully claimed triumph by defeating the opposing teams from various campuses. The team consisted of six members, including Bintang Akbar Dewantara, Fadillah Dendy Wardono, M. Iqbal Esta Maulana, Gabriel Septio Rivaldi Gultom, Farrel Alden Ananta, and Faiz Hanantya R.
Muhammad Iqbal Esta, the Chief of the E-Sports Community at Udinus and one of the players in the UDINUSXGOD team, expressed his utmost pride for their victory at the national competition. According to him, the opposing teams they faced were tough and talented. Moreover, Iqbal also revealed that Udinus is the only campus in Semarang to emerge as the champion at PMCC and make it to the national qualification.
“It is indeed prideful to claim the champion title, as it was a tough journey for us to face other talented teams. However, our solidarity finally came to fruition and successfully brought our campus to glory at that national competition,” he explained.
He further hoped that this accomplishment achieved by his team could motivate other members to showcase their talents and be accomplished like the team before them. Through the E-Sports community, Iqbal and others would like to shape many new E-Sports players to compete in various competitions.
“We are committed to shaping more E-Sports players to compete in national competitions and international ones,” Iqbal emphasized.
On a different occasion, Dr. Rindra Yusianto, S.Kom., M.T., the Head of the Student Affairs Bureau at Udinus, was proud of this phenomenal accomplishment. He hoped for this success to encourage other students to aim for the best.
“I hereby congratulate these students for their success. This particular accomplishment is proof that our campus could make its glory at the national level, particularly in the E-Sports branch,” he concluded.
The 2023 PMCC was hosted from December 11th to 13th, 2023 through an online platform. Additionally, it was an official event held by Tencent PUBG Mobile Indonesia, with students from various campuses in Indonesia being the target audience. The victorious team from each campus will once again compete in the grand final.
